Poem - Take the Fall

Emerging Lifelines: A Series of Poetry, Vol. 1.

Title: The Ropes of Uncertainty

Author: Tanys Kowalski

Created: 2008

The edge of release is very near

I wish to be free, now and here

But I’m afraid to take the fall

To risk and jump, to lose it all

To be given a new a life, a new day

To be divine and worthy in the utmost way

Erased from the problems of my yesterday

A look, a glance, I start to shake

A slip, a stumble, but I don’t break

I yearn for the chance to fly away

So you’re the only one here with nothing left to say

But I can’t seem to jump

No, I won’t take the fall

It’s time to break down these stone-shadowed walls

But I can’t seem to jump

No, I won’t take the fall

Not with you holding the pieces of my broken wall

Obscured in time by my endless fears

I stare at the edge with warm, fallen tears

The edge of release, so very close to me

I wish to be free, now, and for eternity

I breathe, and I jump

Taking the fall

I breath, and I jump,

Yearning it all

Closing my eyes I fall from grace

I’m one with this feeling, this place

This is where I begin my new life, a new day

Of being divine and worthy in the upmost way

And now you’re the only one here with nothing left to say.
