Why?

A question usually asked

By anyone who’s ever had

A moment of reflection

A moment of deflection

to uproot a certain reason,

A seasoned motive, enhancing

the ability to answer itself

But it cannot be

Puzzling as this is

The answer is still searched for

Ever quite grasping

the rather complex purpose

of the quest embodied in our soul

Hopelessly enriched with layers

of time that is never given back

And,

Instead of stopping

We stall

In the search of why

In the name of why

For we may grow weak

We may become withered

But we stand strong and try again

To answer life’s deepest mysteries

From the questions we ask ourselves

In hope to be able to relieve

Some sort of stress

Some sort of mess

We need to desperately fix

or diminish

But,

The question of why is forever played

For behind every why

Is another question

Waiting to be answered

To be called into submission

So that one time

Just like you

Just like me

Together we could figure out

The moments of reflection

The moments of deflection

All in the name of why
